Your license key

Look for an email from Polar (our payment provider), sent from noreply@polar.sh. It contains your license key and a link to the customer portal where you can manage your devices later.

If it's not there yet, give it a minute. If it still hasn't shown up, check your spam folder and search for VerseTap or Polar. If you genuinely can't find it, email hello@getversetap.com and we'll resend.

First launch, read this part

The very first time you open VerseTap, macOS will block it with a dialog that says “Apple could not verify VerseTap is free of malware”. It isn't malware. Apple shows this for any app installed outside the App Store. Here's how to get past it:

1. 1.Open the DMG and drag VerseTap into your Applications folder.
2. 2.Double-click VerseTap once. macOS will show the block dialog — click Done to close it. (This step tells macOS the app exists.)
3. 3.Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, and click Open Anyway next to the VerseTap message.
4. 4.Authenticate with Touch ID or your Mac password when prompted. VerseTap launches.

You only have to do this once. Every launch after that is normal — no warning, no Settings detour. (If you're on macOS 14 Sonoma instead of 15 Sequoia or later, the older right-click → Open trick also works.)

Your license works on up to 3 Macs

When you want to move VerseTap to a different Mac, open the Polar customer portal (the link is in your purchase email) and deactivate the old device. That frees up the slot for the new one.
